where do you belong?

A lot of people have asked what I will be doing on the tour while Emma’s busy being a lady boss backstage. Well, I’ll be (hopefully) keeping this blog and our social media up-to-date, making sure Emma wants for nothing, and selling Merch!

I’ve trained at the Mean Girls Merch stands on Broadway these past couple of weeks preparing to join the touring team when we start in Buffalo in a few weeks.

It’s a fun gig! I get to interact with many people who are excited to be at the show and can’t wait to get their hands on a precious piece of memorabilia as well as those who are just there to hand me their credit card to pay for the excited person’s t-shirt or water bottle.

When starting this job, I wasn’t expecting to gain so much fame or notoriety, but on my second night, while leaving through the stage door – because of course that’s how we have to leave with tens of eager teen girls and their moms waiting in anticipation that the person opening the door is their favorite cast member and not me – I was met with applause and cheers from a group of three women who said, “It’s our favorite Merch guy!” After signing autographs (just kidding) and taking a photo (not kidding), I was able to leave feeling like a star.

That experience certainly set the bar high. Since then, I’ve mostly been received with inquisitive looks from those asking each other, “Is that one of the mathletes?”

  1. Wait. This is so cool. Did you quit your job? Just put it on hold? What’s your plan for when you get back to NYC? I’d like to say again, this is so cool you guys are so cool.

    1. Thanks! I did quit my job! We’re assuming that we will both be able to find jobs when we come back. Most likely, we won’t leave the tour until Emma has a job lined up here in NYC. It should all work out! 🙂
